Light Usage

Usage of light in the household is typically one of the areas that take up to most energy usage. One of the ways to reduce this is to remmeber to shut off uneccsary lights/electronics when not in use. Another option that requires some money is installing lights that automatically shut off, or lights that are able to be dimmed.

Alternative Energy Source

This one is one of the most costly environmentally sound changes you can make in your home, but can end up saving you the most in the long run. One of the alternate sources you can use is personal solar panels and these collect energy throughout the day and use it to power your house instead of relying on the power grid. Another alternate source is personal wind turbines that you can have installed on your property. Although these are one of the most expensive changes you can make, they can end up saving you more money and greatly reducing your environmnetal impact in the long run.
